Senior DevOps Engineer at Svenska kraftnät

Svenska kraftnät plays a crucial role in Sweden's energy transition. Our IT division is rapidly expanding to enable a doubled electricity production and a fossil-free future.

We are now looking for an application-oriented senior DevOps engineer with solid experience and technical leadership who wants to help shape the digital solutions of the future for the Swedish and Nordic power system.

About the position

The role contributes to an important part of the development of Sweden's power system through active management. As a senior DevOps engineer with us, you will play a key role in the management and further development of our most critical applications in the balancing area. You will work closely with solution architects, system owners, other DevOps engineers, and testers in an agile team, where you contribute with technical expertise, improvement initiatives, and strategic competence.

You will:

• Drive the technical improvement work within DevOps, including automation, CI/CD, security reviews, and system upgrades.
• Optimize and secure operational environments for our applications, focusing on availability, performance, and security.
• Be responsible for technical requirements in collaboration with business and IT architects, as well as other IT functions.
• Support advanced testing, including load, security, and integration testing.
• Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing with colleagues and contribute to skill development within the team.

You will work with modern technologies such as OpenShift, Kafka, Kubernetes, GitLab, Docker, Grafana, and have the opportunity to influence both technology choices and working methods.

About you

Required qualifications:

For this role, you need to have good service and collaboration skills as the role involves many internal and external contact points. You have analytical skills and enjoy solving complex problems that benefit strategic goals. The workload may vary, and therefore you need to be comfortable in a changing organization. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in computer science, information technology, or another education that Svenska kraftnät deems relevant.
• At least 10 years of experience in DevOps/technical system management in complex and mission-critical environments.
• Deep technical expertise in Linux/Unix, CI/CD, automation, Java/Python, SQL/XML, as well as experience in system integration.
• Experience working according to ITIL, PM3, or similar frameworks.
• Good habits in documenting, communicating, and collaborating with both technical and business-oriented roles.
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum or SAFe.
• You communicate very well in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have:

• RH Fuse, JMS, Webservices
• The ability to contribute to the long-term technical development of applications.
• Security reviews, risk analyses, and regulatory requirements
• Leadership or technical responsibility in larger projects

Good to know

• The position is located in Sundbyberg, with the possibility of remote work up to 50%.
• Travel within the Nordic region may occur.
• On-call duty is included after introduction.
